    VodAccess™ is a Logiways’ next generation Push-VoD application suite, developed in close collaboration with a European DTH/DTT PayTV operator. VodAccess™ was specified and designed to offer viewers a "home video rental store" so that they can watch programs whenever they wish.

  •  VodAccess overview

    With Logiways VodAccess™, premium video content is pushed over the digital broadcast network. Pushed Content is received and stored as secure encrypted files at the subscriber’s Digital Video Recorder. According to the viewing rights assigned to each programme (asset), the on-screen menu displays the available programmes, enabling immediate, impulse viewing without any download delay.

    Additional functionality can be added by means of a 3G Data Dongle, enabling real-time transaction-mode VoD by connection to a Subscriber Management System. This combination offers additional revenue opportunities for Cellular Data Operators to offer TV services alongside data package subscriptions

  • VodAccess

    TV viewing habits are changing dramatically. The new generation of consumers demand more and more content according to their personal schedules, instead of the TV Companies linear offers. ‘Event Television’ increasingly features in peoples’ busy lifestyles. Broadcasters are progressively driven to deliver non-linear programming to satisfy their customers’ demands for control over their personal viewing schedules.

    LOGIWAYS VodAccess has been purpose-built to enable one-way broadcast networks to deliver a rich Video-On-Demand experience, without costly broadband infrastructure. For the first time, Satellite, Terrestrial and Basic Cable are able to offer their viewers the same On-Demand environment that was previously the preserve of IP Broadband and Two-Way Cable services.

    LOGIWAYS VodAccess allows premium Content (Movies, Series, Sports Events) to be ‘pushed’ securely to customer DVR’s, where it can be managed in a multitude of ways to offer Subscription VoD (SVOD), Transaction VoD (T-VoD) and Pay-Per-View (PPV) consumer offers. For the viewer, they have access to a catalog of exciting and interesting content, with no latency, completely on-demand.

    LOGIWAYS VodAccessTM allows a single Head-End to address every viewer in the broadcast network, unlike streaming VoD, which often requires multiple installations in order to provide acceptable quality of service. Content is moved to the DVR’s during off-peak viewing periods, enabling highly cost-efficient bandwidth re-utilisation. Most importantly, Logiways VoDAccess maintains total security over all the content for as long as it is required.

    In addition, by combining low-cost return channel techniques, such as 2G or 3G cellular data-sticks, fully interactive Transactional operations can be seamlessly integrated with popular Subscriber Management Systems, making VoDAccess the ideal complement to a Mobile Telephone Network Operator’s service portfolio and enabling incremental revenue from Light-Internet and Social Networking applications to the DVR..
